Whats on?

Dig the City Manchester 2012 will be a green fingered mix of many exciting events and displays, including a flower festival spectacular at Manchester Cathedral and floral installations and activities at Manchester Arndale, the brand new National Football Museum and The Triangle.

There will be other horticultural activities in the surrounding areas of Cathedral Gardens, Exchange Square and Victoria Street including a sunflower corner where you can learn about the Turing's sunflower project, community gardens from around Greater Manchester, the North West In Bloom competition judging, pop up allotments and learning about vegetables, stunning flower markets, the spectacular Jubilee Garden and exhibits from RHS Tatton show and don't miss the life size topiary sporting figures, and the stunning Olympic themed displays in the garden areas!

The majority of it is free to see and take part in, so bring friends and family for a fantastic day in our city centre garden! Please see the festival map (link) for what's on in the different areas.

Manchester Cathedral is proud to stage the North West's largest flower festival, celebrating themes of music and the Diamond Jubilee. Led by a Chelsea award winning team, and the organisers of major flower festivals including Hampton Court Palace, Dig the City at Manchester Cathedral will be a stunning spectacle of over 30,000 flowers.

Dig the City at Manchester Cathedral will be a spectacle of flowers. The Cathedral will be filled with stunning cut flowers, designed by award winning flower arrangers. The theme will be a celebration of music and the Diamond Jubilee, and will include displays depicting classical and modern music.
